04 ~ On the Other Side of the Field [Video/Action]

[Today, people might notice something different about Zuko. As soon as she wakes up, she notices there's something not right. This isn't her room, and these clothes too big for her. What in the world is going on? And wings? And journals? And what?

The video feed will start and those watching will notice that Zuko has longer hair and a distinctly more feminine face and voice.]

Would someone mind telling me what's going on here? Where am I?

[Yes, Zuko is now a girl. And doesn't even remember ever being a guy. As far as she knows, she just got here.

Eventually, she'll wander out of her room and start looking around the house. Wearing these clothes that just don't fit her at all. Needless to say, she'll need to make a trip to town to get something a bit more appropriate. So she can be find wandering around the village and eventually at the clothing shop.]

[Sokka is so cute when he's tongue-tied and Zuko restrains the urge to giggle at it. But she looks away as he reminds her that he is, in fact, taken.]

Suki... I know.

[And look Sokka. Look how disappointed she is. Yes she's definitely crushing on him, but she'll respect his relationship with Suki.]

[It's really weird. Inwardly, Sokka is freaking out, and he wants nothing more than to run fifty feet away and only then maybe prod this girl with a stick. But that said, Zuko is his friend, even if he's a she.]

Right, Suki. So... how much do you know about things... here... Zuko?

[This will never feel right. He will never feel clean again.]

[ladyhotman]

[Well now this is just embarrassing, so Zuko tries to save face by folding her arms again and looking huffy.]

I just woke up here, so not much.

Okay, well that certainly explains a lot.

[Not that he had heard of something exactly like this. Well, actually he had, but he just didn't realize it.

Sokka sits down on the couch, now that he's calmed down a little bit from Zuko's not-so-manly affections and beckons her to sit down to.]

Geez, where do I even begin to explain this to you? You're... this place isn't anywhere in the world we're familiar with.

Actually, better yet, what's the last thing you remember before waking up here?

[ladyhotman]

[Zuko hesitates for a moment, but she eventually comes over and sits down next to him. Though she keeps her eyes averted. She made things weird and she knows it. It's not like she meant to, but well.]

The last thing I remember was talking to my mother in Hira'a. Eley already explained a little bit to me over the journal.

[theideaguy]

[Weird is an understatement, but Zuko is still Sokka's friend. Even if it's this Zuko. Even if it's a Zuko that's crushing on him.]

Oh so you've talked with Eley already, hm? [Not that Sokka knew Eley much at all, though he knew of Eley via Zuko.] So... yeah, I guess you know that you've come to this... WEIRD world away from home and that we're stuck here until who knows when.

So... do you still have a sister back home?

[Or is Azula now a guy too? Sokka's not sure which would be more frightening.]

You mean Azula? Of course.

[Though now she looks a little sad at the mention of her sister.]

But I have a half sister now, too.

[And this brings a little bit of a smile to her face. Kiyi is adorable and she hopes they can take the time to get know each other and become close.]

Yeah I suppose you do, don't you? [Sokka's familiar with her, though it barely registers in his mind since he really didn't deal with that half of Zuko's family all that much over the years.]

So huh, everything the exactly the same except for you.

[Thinking aloud is going to get Sokka is so much trouble with this feminine Zuko.]

[And now Zuko full out scowls at Sokka]

What is THAT supposed to mean? Are you saying there's something wrong with me? How could you!

[And with that she gets up and proceeds to stomp away. UGH. BOYS.]

[If only photographs had been invented already. Alas.]

... Yes, yes I am! You've been here for months already, and suddenly you've forgotten everything!

[And suddenly gotten a lot creepier. Sokka doesn't even want to think about an actual history with Princess Zuko.]

[ladyhotman]

[Hearing that, Zuko stopped in her tracks and whirled around to face him with wide eyes. So now she stomps back over to him.]

Well that's not how I see it okay?! And is that really the only thing that's "wrong" with me? Is me being a girl not good enough for you?!

[theideaguy]

[Yeah, Sokka feels well over his head here on how to handle this one. It really was weird. But how do you properly communicate the complexity of that in just a few words?

[Okay, fine. He might as well try.

[Sokka stands up and goes to Zukerina and places a gentle hand on his/her shoulder, sighing slightly. This is his serious face. He's now very serious right now, talking about serious things seriously.]

Look, I'd be lying if I were to say that it isn't just the tiiiiiiiniest bit weird, Zuko. [Understatement of the month.] There's small part of me that thinks it's weird, but there's also a part of me that thinks this entire place is weird.

But you and I are friends, good friends, and nothing changes that... even if... you dress different or have really long and nice hair. Okay?

[ladyhotman]

[Zuko continues to give Sokka that trademark grumpy glare. Though this time with a more feminine face. She really just wants to knock his block off right now, but she relaxes a little when he puts her hand on his shoulder and says what he does.

She then pinches the bridge of her nose with an exasperated sigh.]

Okay. You're right, we are friends, even if you can be a real jerk sometimes.

[This coming from the ostrich horse's mouth. Yep.]

[theideaguy]

[He sidles up next to Zuko and slides his arm across her back, to show that he's not going to hold it against her.]

Honestly, would you get along with me if it were any different?

[He grins before coaxing her along.] So c'mon, let me show the new lady around town, hm?

[ladyhotman]

I guess you've got a point.

[She relents with a small smile when he puts his around around her. She then follows as he leads her along.]
